Hi, everyone. I hope you're having a great day! I hope this message inspires you to take action in fulfilling your dreams and to start living your most authentic life.
I posted on Facebook the number of 10,950. If I were to live till 85 years of age, those are how many days I have left in my life. Yeah, that kind of puts it into perspective! It's an eye opener for sure. So I ask myself, Why am I wasting another day, not doing what I really want to do, what my soul is really calling me to do?
I'm taking an online course, and the professor did this exercise. You take the age you expect to live to. He chose 80, but I chose 85 because that makes me feel better. So, you take the age of 85, and you subtract your age by it. You then subtract your age. That number you times by 365, and you will get the number of days that you have until you die, if you lived to 85.
I thought, wow, that's scary. When you really put it in day-by-day, that's not very many days left, so what are we waiting for? Why are we not taking the step to start living the life that we really want? I know it's fear-based, and it's easy to talk ourselves out of it, but if you don't start today, okay, maybe tomorrow. If you don't start tomorrow, those days are just going to be ticking by. Think from a year from now where you can be in your life if you start tomorrow.
I think about that all the time, and this just put it in a whole new light for me, that all my little small steps that I'm taking will hopefully result in a big change and what I'm working towards. There are three principles that you do need to incorporate into your daily practice, and it will help you really succeed at your goal and where you're headed and keep you focused.
First, you really need to have a vision of what the end-result will be. Let's just say, losing weight, for example. If you want to lose 20 pounds, 30 pounds, or you may have more, I don't now, but envision yourself how that person looks when you lose that weight. How do you look? How do you feel? Think about that, and that's what you're going to remember. Because that's where you're going to go, and that is going to help you get there.
The second principle you need to have to really stay focused on your goal is your intention. Why is this goal so important to you? What is your intention going forward? If you lose weight, is it because you're going to be around longer for your family, or you'll be off medication? Remember, it is what your intention is, not somebody else's. If someone else is asking you, again, our example is just losing weight, to lose weight for them? That is not the reason to do it. Remember, it's your soul calling what you need to do for yourself to live your best life.
Thirdly, the third principle is action. You have to do, instead of dream. Do, instead of dream, and you will get there. So, even if it's 10 minutes a day, walking, lifting weights, and you slowly increase that, that matters. Those small stuffs will result in big changes. You have to be consistent with it, but you will succeed at it. Think about how many days you have left. There is no more waiting. There just isn't, and I know it's not easy. I know there's a lot of things that, our mind, we have those little voices in our head that try to defeat us. But, that's not you. You can do this.
I know. I was in a really dark place 10 years ago or so, and I wasn't doing all the right things. I just didn't know what to do. When you're in that place, you don't know what the answers are, so I want to help you not waste another day. I hope that I can help you lessen some of the pain and some of the things I went through. Maybe you won't have to go through those things, and it can lessen your pain a little bit.
So, I hope that, in some way, you will start practicing these three principles, and you do really have to do it on a daily basis. It's all about teaching your mind, working that new muscle and telling yourself that you can do it. I know there's somewhere in your life that you did something really hard and you were proud of yourself, so you can do it again.
Remember, do that little exercise. Look at how many days you have left. I mean, it's a positive exercise, but it's hard to face that. But, if you don't do it now, you're wasting another day, and another day, and another day, and that's if we're healthy, and we live to that age. So, let's not waste any more time. Let's go after our dreams. Let's make them happen. Let's do and not just dream.
